This is probably as close to an actual barn car you can get today. This person is the original owner of a ‘launch’ 2001 BMW M3 E46 in Laguna Seca Blue. The car only has 19,000 miles!!!
According to the owner’s ad, he took delivery of one of the first BMW E46 M3 (aka a launch car), and put it in garage. Once in a while he drove it, but not really. The car is the right options including a manual and the desirable Laguna Seca Blue exterior color. This color was made available only in the launch year of the E46 M3.
He says in the ad – “My original plan was to use it as an everyday car when I bought it but the car was just to flashy for an everyday driver so it spends most of it’s life sitting in the garage. I only put around 19k very easy miles on it since new.”
Owner claims it still smells new inside. Original car with original parts and comes with window sticker. Now here is the bad part – based on the pictures the car looks like its been unused for a while. Owner doesn’t state maintenance records for the car, so its safe to assume he probably didn’t really upkeep the car with regular oil changes and such. Also depending on how long the car was sitting in the ‘garage/barn’, there seems to be some discoloration on interior pieces. Without being in a climate control environment the exterior black rubber that surrounds the windows tend to get dry and crack. Without a closer inspection, its hard to know the exact condition of the car.
And then theirs the expectations of the owner. He wants $30,000 for the car and cash buyers only. He states – “Serious cash ready buyers only. No test drives, no checks and no tire kickers. Price is $30000 and worth it. If it does not sell, I will just keep it.”
Sounds like a no-nonsense type of seller. But its a find.
