We’ve been saying it and now Hagerty has proclaimed it!
The BMW E46 M3 is on Hagerty’s first ever emerging classic list and the car we love here at BMW Sports Car is on the list – the BMW E46 M3 from 2001-2006.
The company lists cars they believe as most likely to rise in the next few years. The company used data from thousands of auto insurance quotes to identify what cars are in demand for coverage. Since Hagerty themselves offer classic car coverage they themselves know what is deemed ‘desirable’ from their clients as well.
Hagerty CEO McKeel Hagerty says the Bull Market List represents cars that are exciting, fun to drive, and capture the imagination, but that buyers “also want something that’s a good investment.”
Younger Buyers change the market
As more and more younger affluent buyers enter the market they will, in turn, pursue the cars they desired as a youth. Certain cars are rising in value due to this demographic shift. The 1990-2001 Lamborghini Diablo has gained 45% in value in the past few years as well as the 1994-1998 Toyota Supra Turbo.
The BMW E46 M3 from 2001-2006 is no exception. The car is considered one of the best M3’s ever made and certain models and colors are already appreciating – Competition Package and rare colors like Alpine White, Laguna Seca Blue and Interlagos Blue are up there.
“If any of these cars interest you,” Hagerty says of the cars on the Bull Market list, “our recommendation is to jump on them now.”
BMW Sports Car says the same. Buy the E46 M3 before its too late.
